American Heart Association Start! Wall Street Run (3M)
This race on Thursday afternoon wound through lower Manhattan to finish on the Battery Park promenade. The official race temp is 87 degrees, but I don’t know if I believe that. Sounds too cold and balmy to me. When your pace steadily drops off through the whole race, you are runnin’ too fast, boyo. God, it was hot.
There weren’t so much spectators as tourists who were mad they couldn’t cross the race course, on their cell phones going, “I don’t know, there’s all these people running by, do these people all work here?”
Splits after the jump.
- 6:43
- 7:22
- 7:43
Total time of 21:50 (God, it was hot), for a pace of 7:17.
This would be the perfect race in 55 degree weather. You’d slaughter it. That’s probably why they do it in June.
